Author Bio
Peter Bently was born in Tidworth and attended Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied for a BA Hons in Modern Languages. He has two young children and now lives in Devon. He has also written several other award-winning picture books, including A Lark in the Ark (Egmont), Shark in the Dark (Macmillan) and Cats Ahoy!, which won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. David Roberts has earned great acclaim for his distinctive illustrations. His previous work includes collaborations with his sister Lynn on retellings of several classic fairy stories - their book Little Red was shortlisted for the 2005 Kate Greenaway Medal. In 2006 he won the Smarties Children's Book Prize Gold Award for his line drawings in Mouse Noses on Toast. He is the creator of Dirty Bertie and lives in London.
