Anthea Simmons was born in St Albans and studied at St Hugh's College, Oxford. After pursuing a high-flying career in the city, she decided to write poetry and children's stories. She lives in Devon. Georgie Birkett was born in Kent and studied at Brighton University. She is the author and illustrator of many picture books, and has been published all over the world.
