A blend of What Katy Did? And Pride and Prejudice, this book manages to appeal to a modern reader. Burgis has written a winning formula and I am sure the next two instalments will be eagerly awaited . * www.writeaway.org.uk *
A lively, fast-moving story with a high spirited, adventurous heroine ... historical fiction's answer to the ever-popular chick lit. A delightful romp through Regency England; girls of 10+ should love it. * HNR Issue 54 *
SB's debut novel is a more substantial foray into the regency world of Austen and Heyer than that of Meg Cabot; albeit with elements of J K Rowling thrown in for good measure .... An amusing and exciting first instalment * The School Librarian *
