Media Reviews
This is one of the best nurse autobiographies I have read. Mary Joyce Baxter brings her wide-ranging career to life in a book that deserves to become a classic. It is well written and thrilling as a novel, with great stories and attention to detail. -- Laurence Dopson Nursing Standard magazine
Author Bio
After the end of World War Two, Mary Joyce Baxter left her home in the Midlands to train as a nurse. Training as a nurse led to work as a midwife in Birmingham and later in the Army as a QARANC Nursing Sister. When abroad, she met the man she later married. Her main interest was in midwifery and child care which she eventually found as a Health Visitor in a busy Northern town. Now retired, she spends time in writing and runs a small Creative Writing Group in Lancashire.
