Author Bio
As well as teaching in several English primary schools, Ruth Mason home-schooled her own son in Nigeria, illustrated a school primer, and taught unschooled Igala women to read and write. Returning to England, she taught adult literacy at a local borstal and English classes at Reading Prison and Reading Technical College. She obtained her BA at Reading University and taught at the Summer Institute of Linguistics before gaining a PhD and travelling to Kenya, where she taught Linguistics for seven years. In her retirement she attended creative writing classes at Reading University's School of Continuing Education and won a local writing competition a year later. She has had three poems and an article published in Christian magazines.
