Synopsis

Civil unrest floods the home town of a medical researcher and his doctor wife just as he is on the brink of discovering the cure for a devastating disease. They flee to an isolated Nordic research facility to finish the project but fractures in their marriage start to appear. As the outside world grows increasingly hostile and with the future of the human race at stake, they are forced to choose between conflicting allegiances and to come to terms with her traumatic past. Against the backdrop of the aurora borealis and suffused with Norse mythology, Valhalla explores the boundaries of scientific research and tests the endurance of human love. The play premiered at Theatre503, London, in September 2015.
