Media Reviews
'It is not often that books on Greek mythology for children manage to present full and accurate accounts of the stories in a lively and accessible style. This book certainly succeeds on that count, as it does on many others... The narrative in all ten stories is pacy and lively dialogue helps maintain this... The illustrations are vibrant, certainly capturing the colours and sunshine of the Aegean.' English 4-11 'The reader's pleasure is greatly enhanced by Jane Ray's subtly stylized illustrations which complement the stories perfectly. I have been lucky enough to hear the author re-telling Greek legends in one of her storytelling performances before a spellbound audience. She uses the same storytelling technique in this book; the stories are plainly meant to be read out loud. I'm sure that children of 6 and up will be as enchanted as I was.' Historical Novel Society 'A good introduction for a child who hasn't met these stories before.' The Book Maven 'Perfect stories for reading aloud.' Armadillo especially good for reading aloud...beautiful, glowing illustrations Parents in Touch 'luminously lovely' The Times
