Media Reviews
The most exciting politician of the day. * * Independent * *
Like Bill Clinton, he has the knack of weaving together the personal and the anecdotal with the political and the conceptual, so that each point seems both persuasive and commonsensical. * * Guardian * *
This may be the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician. * * Joe Klein, Time [on Dreams From My Father] * *
The speeches are crafted for Obama as a great orator; on the page they still sing with sincerity. -- Ian Finlayson * * The Times * *
[The manifesto] should finally put paid to the common misconception that Obama is all style but no substance . . . when the reader reaches Obama's speeches . . . it feels a little like stepping into a Ferrari. The man who has become US president is living proof that words matter. He single-handedly placed soaring, thoughtful and eloquent rhetoric back into the centre of political discourse. -- Niall Stanage * * Sunday Business Post * *
