Synopsis

A young girl's thirst for knowledge takes her on a breathtaking journey with mythical creatures, the spirit world, and the forces of good and evil. Kat's parents are arguing and Kat is worried they will divorce. To escape her family troubles she is drawn to a magical counter-reality, where she discovers a unicorn, Apollo, and rides it across an abyss to a magic world with no adults. At first she is entranced, until she learns the magical world has an evil side. She meets, Dan, another child trapped there, who is now 'see-through' like a ghost because he has been 'emptied' of emotion by the evil force. If Kat does not escape she will fade away into nothing. The only way Kat's parents can save her is if she can persuade them to believe in magic and teach them that the only important thing is love - by communicating with them through their dreams. An adventure with spiritual overtones and many messages for today's children. "The Unicorn" trilogy is a fantasy in the Narnia genre, aimed at young readers aged 6-16. The parable is that even the magical fantasy world has its problems, and is not necessarily an escape.

Media Reviews
In this harsh world of right and wrong, we must transcend to a place of magic within us that allows spirit to enter. This book contains a wonderful, spiritual tale which is perfect for today's more sophisticated young reader. A breathtaking bedtime read, that neither you nor your child will want to put down.Jacky Newcomb Psy.D, Sunday Times best selling author of An Angel Saved My LifeThis wonderfully constructed fantasy teaches children the invaluable lesson that the forces of good and evil are actually merely reflections of the light and shade within their own hearts, and that by focusing on the light or good within, in order that it grows, it helps make the light or good stronger in the world. In this sense, they are empowered with the ability to change things for the better.
