PRAYING THE SAVIOUR'S WAY (If Nobody Loves You Create the Demand)

PRAYING THE SAVIOUR'S WAY (If Nobody Loves You Create the Demand)

by THOMASDEREK (Author)

Synopsis

Even in today's post Christian society the Lord's Prayer remains widely known. Its beauty is that it can be understood by a child, but has tremendously profound lessons for those of us who investigate it more deeply. However, our tendency is to allow familiarity to breed complacency. We can repeat the Lord's Prayer verbatim, but do we ponder its message and follow its example?

Media Reviews

If you would learn to pray, or strengthen your prayer life, who better to instruct you than Jesus. That is why Praying the Saviour's Way can be such a great help to you. The master model for prayer is clearly explained with helpful application.

-- Luder G. Whitlock

The exposition it contains can only thrill and inspire us afresh to make far more use of the extraordinary privilege of coming to God in prayer.

-- Mark G. Johnston, Grove Chapel, Camberwell

Too often our prayers are concerned with ourselves and lack the reverence which is due. As Thomas walks through the 'Lord's prayer' with us, we discover fundamental truths about both God and ourselves. This book is a powerful reminder of who God is, who we are and what prayer is about.

-- Eleonore Van Haaften

Instructive, practical, readable, challenging. Each chapter will make you eager for the next course. Nourishing fare indeed!

-- Sinclair B. Ferguson, First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina

Professor Thomas has given us an insightful and inspiring look at the Lord's Prayer. The church has always returned to Christ's instruction on prayer to form prayers that are pleasing to God. In our day when new forms of spirituality are appearing all around us, we need to return once again.

-- Richard Pratt

... This book will be a great blessing to you and certainly help each of us better understand how to obey Christ's instruction to pray like this. I recommend it heartily.
