Synopsis

Houseplants bring life and colour to indoor spaces, brightening our surroundings and softening even the most spartan of interiors. The beauty of houseplants is that, with the right amount of light, watering and fertilizing regime, a huge range of species can be grown indoors - from succulents to bonsai and from foliage and flowering plants to fruit-bearing species. This opens an abundance of possibilities for the indoor gardener. Complete Indoor Plants is a comprehensive guide to caring for house-plants, covering everything from buying the right ones to helping them thrive, as well as propagation, repotting grooming and protecting them against pests and diseases. The Plant Directory , arranged by house-plant families, covers more than 300 popular species. The book steers clear of quick fix decor tips, but instead offers expert advice on achieving lasting success with house-plants. Each entry features a colour photograph for identification, the botanical and common names of the species, as well as essential information in a handy icon panel. Standard information provided for each species includes: height, spread, optimum climate and light, specific care instructions (watering feeding, repotting and general grooming) and propagation tips.
