Author Bio
Daryl Balfour is an experienced photo-journalist who, with his wife Sharna, has spent most of the past eight years in some of southern Africa's wildest areas, capturing them for posterity in both print and photographs. Among the publications he has to his credit are Okavango - An African Paradise, Rhino, Etosha, and African Elephants (all published by Struik). Peter Joyce, a writer and editor, acquired most of his early experience in Zimbabwe, where he held senior positions with a magazine publishing company, a firm specializing in edited reprints of African works, and general book publishing. In 1979 he joined Reader's Digest to help launch their books division in South Africa, and as editor-in-chief was involved in the production of a number of well-received reference titles. He resigned in 1983 to devote himself to writing full-time. A Cambridge graduate, he is author of more than 30 titles including Traveller's Guide to South Africa, Globetrotter Guide to South Africa, Beautiful Zimbabwe, This is Zimbabwe, and This is Botswana. Peter lives in Fish Hoek, Cape Town.
