Michiko Rico Nose has written extensively on design for Japanese television and magazines. She collaborated with photographer Michael Freeman on Japan Modern (Mitchell Beazley). Shunmyo Masuno is a Zen priest and internationally acclaimed garden designer. Michael Freeman is an award-winning photographer specializing in Asia. His most recent books include The Spirit of Asia: Journeys to the Sacred Places of the East, Ancient Angkor, and Japan Modern (Mitchell Beazley).
