The Secret History of Freemasonry

The Secret History of Freemasonry

by JeremyHarwood (Author)

Synopsis

The Freemasons is one of the world's oldest societies. Its membership is made up of men who declare their concern with moral and spiritual values. It is thought that the organization evolved at least 400 years ago from travelling stone masons who made the medieval cathedrals and castles. This timely book begins with the history and legends of the Freemasons, from its medieval origins, through the age of Enlightenment and the Founding Fathers of the USA, to the Victorians and up to the present day. The architecture associated with the Freemasons is also discussed. The importance of three-dimensional symbolism, Solomon's Temple, Egyptian influences, Classical architecture and the Lodge are all explored and illustrated with fabulous fine art images.
