Author Bio
Sally Grindley is an internationally well-known and respected children's author. She has written many award-winning books, including Shhhl, which won the Federation of Children's Book Groups Picture Book Prize; the classic Knock, Knock, Who's There?; the animal series which includes Little Elephant Thunderfoot and Polar Star; and Why is the Sky Blue? She lives in Gloucestershire with her three sons. Heli Hieta is an exciting new talent in international children's illustration. Since completing her MA at Helsinki University of Art and Design, she has illustrated several picture books, including The Man Who Wanted to See the Whole World; The Kingfisher's Mirror and The Princess's Wings for which she was awarded the Silver Meda in the Tops of the Year 1999 Prize and was shortlisted for the Finlandia Junior Award 1999. Heli has had three exhibitions of her work in Finland, and she teaches as a freelance art teacher in Helsinki when she is not working on her own books.
