A Funny Kind of Love: My Story

by SianLloyd (Author)

Synopsis

She's beautiful, talented and intelligent. Her gorgeous smile lights up our television screens even when the forecast is cloudy - Sian Lloyd is, without doubt, Britain's favourite TV weather presenter. Yet behind the poised, professional demeanour there is a woman who has had to deal with more than her fair share of heartache. At a time when her career was riding high and she was living her life to the full, she suddenly found her world turned upside down as she was faced with the situation every woman prays they will not have to confront: Sian feared that getting engaged was a terrible mistake.Sian's relationship with Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik was a high profile one. When they first met, she was instantly attracted to his offbeat personality and she soon fell for his impulsive, romantic nature; their passions and pastimes seemed to gel and it was as if they were made for each other. Little did she know, however, that Westminster's golden couple would subsequently hit the front pages of the tabloid newspapers as Lembit's connection to one half of Romanian pop duo The Cheeky Girls became public knowledge. In this engaging book, Sian tells her full story with heart-wrenching candour. She speaks of her feelings about the very public and hurtful end to their four years together; she reveals the unconventional behaviour which was a feature of her time with Lembit and she explains how she found herself caught up in her long relationship that threatened to overwhelm her and even destroy her faith in love. Sian's eventual decision to finish things with her maverick bachelor was a blessing in disguise. Throughout the media furore, Sian kept her head and has bounced back stronger than ever - winning Rear of the Year 2007 and finding happiness with motorsport entrepreneur Jonathan Ashman.Sian's life is that of a remarkable and courageous woman whose determination to pursue her dreams on her own terms will inspire women across the country. It is a story filled with laughter, tears, determination and success that will leave you breathless.
