Duct tape has been around since the 1940s, and was originally used as an adhesive for shell cases. Now it seems to have become indispensable just about everywhere, but usually it is associated with mending and sticking. Thanks to Ms. Morgan it has another rather unexpected use crafting! Yes, you can use it to make a vast range of items. This book shows you how, from basic techniques and tips for handling and storage to a large number of projects, grouped in themes. In accessories for example you can discover how to make a belt, a waistcoat, an apron or a hat, or how about the seasonal section where you can make an Easter basket, Christmas decoration or sprig of mistletoe? There are various flowers, props and costumes for plays and fancy dress parties, stickers to construct and a section of bags, wallets and holders. Find out how to make a book cover, reupholster a bar stool, fix a trouser hem and more. This is a well laid out book with a good size of type, mostly one project to a page and a colored photo of the finished item. Each stage of a project marked with a large colored number plus several staged photographs if necessary. Nothing is very hard to make or will take a very long time, and as duct tape is strong most items will last longer than you might think. I was impressed by such an unusual craft book, basking in its own originality in a sea of books on knitting, crochet, cupcakes and cards. If you like making things but think that you are getting a bit stale then this is for you.

I have to say, I've never thought of using duct tape to make things. We have a roll in the `man drawer' at home for temporarily fixing things, but it rarely gets used. This book features great projects; everything from coin purses to neckties, from mini animals to large megativities for the super adventurous. Such creative ideas! The author Richela, is an eco-friendly crafter who also writes a blog about do-it-yourself crafts. She is super lovely so please check out her site!-Claireabellemakes
