Fantastic book by three watercolour artists who are expert at painting fantasy art. This book is a compilation of four earlier ones brought together in one volume. There is advice on each individual area including subjects and backgrounds with ideas for producing artworks that vary from the traditional pretty picture watercolour so the artist can produce works with more depth and excitement. Each book covers the subject in detail showing us not only individual sections such as fairy limbs, unicorn hooves and horns or dragon scales, but how to use different watercolour painting techniques to create unusual effects. Each section ends in two step by step demonstrations for the student to follow utilising techniques covered in the book. Included are tracings for each demo so the artist can concentrate on making best use of the painting techniques.

This is a useful and informative book for anyone interested in using their imagination to create fabulous fairy and magical paintings. There's so many ideas for taking the subject far further than a simple traditional fantasy and thats what makes it so exciting.
