This book is brightly coloured, well illustrated with good photography and great step-by-step instructions. In fact, I really wanted to start to make some of the projects right away. Aimed at young teenage girls with easy to make projects such as book covers, bags, scarves and boxes all incorporating the batik method. There's also a little history on batik and information on useful websites and more books to read.

This quick and easy technique lets us use wax and dye to decorate gorgeous things including scarves, wall hangings, bracelets and bags. The book includes four projects with numerous variations. There are step-by-step photographs, easy to follow instructions, simple techniques and lots of creative ideas. It's definitely one to share with teenagers.

The illustrations, photography and numbered instructions are clear, concise and easy to follow and each project contains a list of the required materials. There are four quick and easy Batik projects using wax and dye to decorate scarves, wall hangings, bracelets, bags and books. Seven Patchwork projects including a pet's quilt, a pin cushion, a belt, a pillow and a bag are all funky, stylish and fun.
