White's Sports Almanac

White's Sports Almanac

by JohnWhite (Author)

Synopsis

White's "Sports Almanack" will be a thorough and broad-ranging review of the sporting year 2006-07, covering the period from the beginning of September 2006 to the end of August 2007. It will provide coverage of both UK sport and the international sports scene, but the entries will be weighted in favour of the abiding interests of British sports fans (for instance, by far the greatest amount of coverage in the book will be devoted to football). Sport-by-sport, the entries will include narrative accounts of the major sports matches and competitions, results and statistical data, trivia items and quotes. There will also be month-by-month coverage of the sporting milestones of the year and sections in the book devoted to the sports personalities of the year, business and sport, sport and the law, sport and the media, sports celebrities, sports awards and obituaries of prominent sports people.

Author Bio
John White is a lifelong sports fanatic who has devoted all his spare time to compiling an impressively comprehensive computer database of sporting facts and figures. An Irishman from Belfast, he is the author of all seven of the books in Carlton's sports miscellany series, as well as a dozen or so other titles on a wide range of sports. With a certain reluctance on his behalf, he is fast developing a reputation as the UK's leading sports anorak.
