Media Reviews
Here is a novel that needs a trumpet to be blown for it. The pleasures lie less in plot surprises than in the plain, exact and elegant language that takes you to the heart of each character's feeling. The end of the novel, which reduced the reader to tears, leaves you longing for the sequel which Walker has had the good sense to commission. The Guardian on No Shame, No Fear
