Author Bio
Nicholas Foulkes was educated at Christ's Hospital and Hertford College Oxford. Following a three-year flirtation with the wine trade he joined the London Evening Standard. He worked first as Editor of the London Life section and was then appointed Associate Editor of ES, the monthly Evening Standard magazine, to assist with its successful re-launch as a weekly title. He left full time employment to pursue a writing career. He has since contributed articles to most major British newspapers and magazines and is the luxury editor of GO. He has written several books, the most recent of which was a biography of bisexual gambling dandy and early 19th-century political fixer Count d'Orsay. A keen backgamman player, he lives beyond his means in West London with his wife Alexandra and two sons.
