Synopsis

This enchanting volume explores the wealth and beauty of the entire clematis family. Second only to the rose in popularity, this versatile genus has a place in all gardens and an extra special role in small spaces. Supported by the Royal Horticultural Society, the book will inspire gardeners to experiment with the infinite number of possibilities open to them. The heart of the book is the portrait gallery, displaying, in exquisite detail, over 120 varieties of clematis. The practical section describes in clear terms, and with the help of step-by-step photographs, how to plant, prune and train clematis, as well as how to propagate them. Clematis manages to simplify the diversity of the genus without sacrificing the detailed information that some gardeners may be seeking in order to enjoy them to the full.
