Author Bio
As a child, Linda Newbery used to dream of being an author, and used to do a lot of secret writing in her bedroom. It was much later, when Linda was an English teacher, that her first young adult novel, Run with the Hare, was published by HarperCollins. Gradually, she became a full-time author. Sisterland was shortlisted for the Carnegie Award and The Shell House was shortisted for the Carnegie and Guardian book prize. Linda won the Costa Children`s Book Prize with Set in Stone. Posy is Linda's first picture book. Catherine Rayner's first book, Augustus and His Smile, was nominated for the V&A Illustration Award, and the Greenaway, and won the Bookstart Best New Illustrator Award. Catherine also exhibits her work at art galleries where her screen prints are very much in demand. Cat lives in Edinburgh.
