Sally Grindley recently won the Smarties Gold for her novel Spilled Water, but she has also won the Federation of Children's Book Groups Award for Shhh! (Andersen) and the Smarties Prize for Can I Help, Dad? (Simon and Schuster) and been shortlisted for the Sheffield and Norfolk Libraries Book Award with Orchard picture books Little Elephant Thunderfoot and Polar Star respectively. Her most recent books for Orchard, Dear Max and the new Bravo Max have been published to critical acclaim both here and in the US. Sally lives in Gloucestershire. Lindsey Gardiner says she is just like Poppy - with messy hair and mad about dogs! Lindsey was born and brought up in Dundee, where she did textiles at university. As well as writing and illustrating children's books, Lindsey works as a part time lecturer in Printed Textiles at the University of Dundee and as a freelance textile designer. She has had commissions from places like Habitat and M&S, amongst others. Lindsey Gardiner's latest picture book for Orchard Who Wants a Dragon? has proved tremendously popular with its bright, quirky and yet moving artwork.
