Few can match the tremendous impact that Arsene Wenger has had since his arrival at Arsenal. In his 12 seasons at the club, the world-class Frenchman has developed the Gunners into a team capable of challenging for top domestic and European honours every year. His three Premiership titles - two of which came in 'Double' winning campaigns - are evidence of Wenger's unique tactical skill and his famous ability to spot talented young footballers. After a modest playing career in France, Wenger gained managerial experience in his homeland with Nancy and Monaco before taking on a stint at Japanese side Grampus Eight. The lure of the English league, though, was too strong in 1996 and Arsene agreed to fill the vacant post at Highbury. Arriving almost unknown to English football, his incredible achievements since then have shown that Arsene at Arsenal was indeed destined to be a successful fit.Inspiring the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry to produce the best form of their careers, Wenger has led the club to Premiership triumphs in 1997/98, 2001/02 and 2003/04 as well as the 2006 Champions League final. He is the only foreign manager ever to have won the English Double, and in 2004 guided his cosmopolitan team through a whole season without a single league loss. The current crop of players are performing so well under his expert tutelage that 2007/08 could be another momentous campaign for the Gallic genius. The phenomenal Gunners boss, nicknamed 'The Professor', has signed a new contract which commits him to the club until 2011 and Arsenal fans can look forward to a bright red future. This fully up-to-date biography tells the full story of one of world football's leading masterminds.
