Modern Classics: Twenty Handknit Classics for the Modern Woman

Modern Classics: Twenty Handknit Classics for the Modern Woman

by Louisa Harding (Author)

Synopsis

This is a stylish collection of classic hand knitwear designs using generic weights of yarn, 4 ply, DK and Aran. The book is built around a selection of garment shapes, jackets, cardigans and sweaters, with classic sleeve variations. All the designs have a modern twist, with detailing, simple colour work, beading and texture at collar and cuffs, but essentially the garments are knitted in just one colour. Photographed in a contemporary way, using interesting layouts, this book will appeal to a wide range of knitters, who are looking for a stylish and sophisticated approach to classic knitting. A vital part of the concept is the section that shows how to alter patterns to ensure a perfect fit. The timeless appeal of all these designs means the patterns will be used again and again, perhaps in different colourways or with different detailing.
