Travels with My Chicken

Travels with My Chicken

by Martin Gurdon (Author)

Synopsis

Martin Gurdon, accompanied by his pet Buff Sussex hen Peeping Chicken, sets out in his 1951 Bristol car on a whirlwind publicity tour for his book, Hen and the Art of Chicken Maintenance . His travels take him the length and breadth of the country, from an encounter with a bemused Natasha Kaplinsky in the BBC Breakfast news studio to a John Gielgud impersonator at the Edinburgh festival, via a night in the company of an affable but gun-toting B&B owner and a run-in with chicken-expert inmate at Ford Open Prison. Travels with My Chicken is an enjoyable ride with the most entertaining of travel companions, the chicken, and is a must-have for any hen enthusiast.
