Animals (How to Draw)

Animals (How to Draw)

by SusieHodge (Author)

Synopsis

People are probably more interested in drawing their pets and other animals than they are in drawing their friends and family, yet as with drawing people, beginners think that drawing animals is very difficult. In this book Susie Hodge demonstrates just how easy it is, in a series of 10 progressive demonstrations. After detailing the tools and materials required, Susie covers all of the basic techniques necessary to draw animals successfully - tone, solidity, shape, character, expression and movement - these are just a few of the topics covered. The 10 demonstrations are done in a variety of media and concentrate on various aspects of drawing animals - getting the features and proportions right, studying the shape, character and personality, creating the look of fur, capturing movement and foreshortening. Animals featured include cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, rabbits, pigs, squirrels and ponies. A complete beginner will be amazed at what they can achieve by following the demonstrations and learning from the tips, tricks and know-how of the experienced artist.
