Triathlon: An Expert Training Companion

Triathlon: An Expert Training Companion

by Mike Finch (Author)

Synopsis

Triathlon sets out to achieve what no other book on the subject has done to date: it slices neatly through the mass of highly technical information that is available, isolating all the essentials in a simple and accessible manner while still tackling every aspect of an enormously challenging sport. Starting with how triathlon evolved into the Ironman Challenge, the book discusses in detail gear and specialized equipment, how to tailor training to swimming, cycling and running. It gives clear and valuable advice on nutrition and diet, handling injuries and, most importantly, features week-by-week training programmes specifically devised for each of the three disciplines over various triathlon distances. Interspersed throughout are the best tips from top experts and profiles of the world's highest achieving triathletes, plus a handful of the world's great triathlons.
