The Magic of Bangkok

The Magic of Bangkok

by SeanSheehan (Author)

Synopsis

Thailand holds a special fascination for countless annual visitors and no part more so than paradoxical Bangkok where old and new exist side by side in apparent harmony, where congested roads border silent temple precincts and world-class hotels tower over traditional wooden homes, while glitzy modern shopping complexes and Internet cafes vie for space with noisy, bustling markets and flower-bedecked spirit houses. This pictorial tribute takes readers on an evocative journey to discover the very soul of Bangkok, capital of the Land of Smiles . Concise text and colour photographs capture the city's star attractions, her friendly people, outstanding markets, traditional Thai cuisine and an impressive array of arts and crafts. From the Grand Palace to the floating market, revered Ayuttahaya to the garish facades of the Patpong district, Bangkok rouses the senses and delights with a multitude of sights, sounds and colours.
