Author Bio
Bernie Rowen has 16 years' experience as healthcare practitioner and lecturer in massage, reflexology, aromatherapy and Ayurvedic Primary Healthcare. She conducts her own practice and is a member of the National Executive Aromatherapy Association of South Africa and the Allied Health Professions Council Ayurvedic Liaison Committee. She has held both these positions since 1992 and is currently chairperson of the former. In 1994 Bernice travelled to Nepal where she trained in Ayurvedic Primary Healthcare management, worked in an Ayurvedic hospital and taught Nepalese women reflexology and massage. She was awarded a Certificate of Competency by the Nepalese Research Institute of Ayurveda and is registered in this modality with the Allied Health Professions Council. She regularly writes articles and is frequently invited to speak on radio programmes with regard to health issues.
