Synopsis

The man from the big house on the hill is called Mr Bear. He is always as cross as a bear. When the fair comes to town, he sees a muzzled and chained bear, jabbed with a stick to make him dance. It stirs him up, and the bear ends up on the cool grass, as he had always dreamed.

Author Bio
Frances Thomas was born in Wales, and started writing professionally in 1980. She also teaches dyslexic children on a part-time basis. She has won a number of awards for her children's picture books. Ruth Brown is the creator of some of Britain's best loved children's books. She has created dozens of picture books for Andersen Press and is highly respected as an author and illustrator. She is married to artist Ken Brown and they have two sons.
