Author Bio
Martin Fido studied at Balliol College, Oxford before lecturing at the University of Leeds and Michigan State University; he then became Reader in English Literature and Head of English at the University of the West Indies, Barbados. After leaving teaching, Martin returned to England and became a full-time writer and broadcaster, specializing in crime. Since 1987 he has written and narrated Murder After Midnight for LBC radio, he has also written and presented a documentary on Jack the Ripper for BBC's Timewatch. He has made contributions to many more television and radio programmes. Among the books Martin has had published have been the Jack the Ripper A-Z (Headline, 1994), Murders after Midnight (Weidenfeld 1990), The Crimes Detection and Death of Jack the Ripper (Orion, 1993) and the Murder Guide to London (Orion, 1993).
