Wirework (Inspirations) (Inspirations S.)

by KarinHossack (Author)

Synopsis

Take one of the cheapest and most readily available materials and with a few twists and bends Wirework will have you making delightful items for all around the home.Wire may not spring to mind as a delicate or decorative material, but the projects in this book show that there is much more to wire in the home than a collection of coat hangers and pipe cleaners. There are many different types of wire, from silver jewellery wire to colourful telephone cable wire, and while some are easily malleable, others hold their shape and are surprisingly strong. The 22 practical projects range from the humourous, such as the Flower Fly Swatter, to elegant and delicate items like the Decorative Shelves. Karin Hossack has gathered together a team of inspired and creative contributors and a fabulous mix of projects, from a funky toothbrush holder to an elegant picture frame. The projects are arranged so that they get successively harder as the book progresses, and there is useful information on equipment, materials and basic techniques at the end of the book, along with some helpful templates.Whether you just want to turn an old coat hanger into something more exciting, or want to make a galvanized wire and bamboo garden drinks carrier, this practical has a project for everyone.
