Media Reviews
A tabloid favourite because of his unashamed love of the high life, Frank McAvennie mixed freely with A-list celebrities and spectacularly blew hundreds of thousands of pounds on a champagne lifestyle based around his love of booze, women and cocaine... Terrifying as his decline was, Frank McAvennie's rise to international soccer star was a Boy's Own dream come true. In terms of tabloid infamy and celebrity he was the David Beckham of his day, followed everywhere by dusty news hacks desperate to keep up. * * FHM * *
