Gone Bamboo

by Anthony Bourdain (Author)

Synopsis

Henry and Frances, ex-New Yorkers and professional assassins, are living the good life in their retirement home - a luxury hotel suite in an idyllic, tequila-drenched Caribbean hideaway. It's supposed to be all cocktails and sex on the beach. But when a job icing a Mafioso godfather goes awry, trouble hits paradise ...in the form of a cross-dressing capo, a debauched and savage Irish hardman and a slew of incompetent but vicious US marshals. Will our hard-nosed, hard-drinking, hard-bodied heroes come out on top? Soak up the sun, dodge the bullets, GO BAMBOO and find out.

Media Reviews
A cross between The Sopranos and Baywatch; if you enjoyed Bourdain's debut novel Bone in the Throat, you'll love this one. Henry and Frances are the new Bonnie and Clyde - you'll be rooting for them all the way. * * Crime Time * *
New York chef / crime writer Anthony Bourdain's characters are tough-talking, streetwise no-gooders who know there's more than one use for a meat cleaver . . . this makes for another deliciously dark comic creation. * * GQ * *
A recipe for a plot that is delicious and hilarious. * * The Times * *
A thoroughly enjoyable thriller with comic touches. * * Time Out * *
