by Mark Hamblin (Author), PeterCairns (Author)

Synopsis

The Cairngorms, Britain's largest National Park, is home to a huge variety of wildlife, from the stunning golden eagle, osprey and peregrine to the evocative red deer, pine marten, mountain hare, wild cat and otter. Photographers Peter Cairns and Mark Hamblin have spent years exploring the landscape of this unique part of Scotland, depicting not only the wild creatures and habitats of the park, but also discovering the pressure that the landscape has faced over thousands of years. In Wild Land , we share their unique, personal insight into man's influence on the balance of nature through an unrivalled collection of images. The authors also take a look back at the animals of Scotland's past, glance into the future of Scottish wildlife and remind us how important it is to nurture our fragile, beautiful land.
