Modelling the Marder Self-Propelled Gun (Osprey Modelling)

Modelling the Marder Self-Propelled Gun (Osprey Modelling)

by SamDwyer (Author)

Synopsis

The term 'Marder' (loosely translated, meaning 'weasel') was the name given to the family of open-topped tank destroyers. Combining high mobility and heavy firepower, they saw significant combat action in several theatres, most notably on the Eastern Front. This self-propelled gun series embraced a great diversity of chassis types, from the French Lorraine tractor chassis of the Marder I to the Czech 38(t) chassis of the Marder III, and featured a wide variety of armament, such as the 75mm PaK 40, the PaK36(r), and captured Russian 76mm guns. Such diversity makes the Marder a perfect subject for a how-to modelling guide, and this book offers diverse challenges to modellers of different abilities.
