Media Reviews

I'm not a student of business psychology. I'm not even a student. I am a business man who was interested in the subject and decided to learn more about it. The book was well written, highly interesting, and it opened my eyes to many new things. If you own a business, or work for yourself, you might want to pick this up. Although it has a text-book feel, you can read it from front to back without breaking too much of a sweat. Give it a shot. - Amazon.com customer review of the 3rd edition

'Eugene McKenna has done it again. Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour is an up-to-date, topical and comprehensive text, which should prove a great success among both undergraduates and post graduates ... A must buy!' - Professor Cary L. Cooper, CBE. Pro Vice Chancellor (External Relations) and Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health, Lancaster University

'This book is an outstanding achievement. It is one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date texts available anywhere on the subject of business psychology and organizational behaviour. It takes the reader through individual, group and organizational perspectives, while at the same time offering an appreciation of their historical development and methodological issues. This solid foundation provides a basis for offering extremely useful guidance on the human resource and organizational options open to practising managers.' - Professor John Child, Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, UK

'This fourth edition of Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour covers issues ranging from personnel selection to training and creating better working conditions, from both a psychological and an organisational point of view. It has a clear style and captivates the reader through the use of multiple practical examples. I would highly recommend it for all programs in higher education which aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of their students in the fields of labour and organisational psychology and business studies.' - Henk T. van der Molen, Professor of Psychology in the field of Labour and Education at the Institute of Psychology, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Past-President of the Dutch Psychological Association

'An indispensable text for the student of Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour. Well organised and clearly written, this latest edition includes a range of new features for students including explicit learning outcomes, chapter summaries and a comprehensive bibliography with pointers for additional reading. Highly recommended.' - Mary Bragg, Principal Lecturer, London Metropolitan University

'The new edition upholds its previous high standards with a thorough and no-nonsense treatment, combining a clear and accessible style with extensive use of relevant business examples and studies. This is a text that reliably delivers for both students and tutors as the starting point for their entry into the worlds of Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour.' - David McHugh, Lancashire Business School, University of Central Lancashire

'This thoroughly updated fourth edition of Eugene McKenna's Business Psychology and Organisational Behaviour is a well-established and modern textbook of occupational/organizational psychology. Its coverage is wide-ranging, the scholarship is first-rate and the author is willing to express his opinion. The traditional, student supports are all provided, including learning objectives, study questions and illustration boxes, and instructors' needs are also well catered for. The spotlight on relevant literature at the end of each chapter, together with the extensive references justify the subtitle: A Student's Handbook. I can strongly recommend this book as a suitable text for both psychology and non-psychology based occupational psychology/organizational psychology or business psychology courses. It is also very useful reading material for managers who wish to understand the psychological principles that underpin our understanding of people's behaviour at work. Furthermore, it is competitively priced.' - Dr George Erdos, Senior Lecturer in Psychology, University of Newcastle, Chartered Occupational Psychologist
