Philosophy (especially the work of Mark Johnson and George Lakoff), psychology (both behavioral and introspective), cognitive science, and Eastern performance practice are all related to acting theory, especially to the work of Constantin Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, and Sanford Meisner.
