Media Reviews
This book is practical, personal and engaging. If you are a dad to younger children, you shouldn't hesitate to read it. If you know a dad, read it and pass it on to him. You will find youself debating, asking questions, thinking afresh and going deeper in your walk with your Dad in heaven. Revd Carl beech - General Director, Christian Vision for Men From Christian Men Together for Scotland - June 2010 This is a book which should resonate with all dads, especially those with young children. What I like about it is that it is very much a man's book , although it can still be read and enjoyed by women. It is about one man's reflections on God - especially God as our father. What also appeals to me is the author's honesty and his avoidance of cliche-ridden answers to questions posed. Brad Lincoln takes the fruit of the Spirit. He explores these as he examines his relationship with God and links this to his relationship with his own children. It is the kind of book which lends itself to reading a chapter a night before going to sleep. That way you're bound to have read it through in about ten days. It contains lots of practical advice as it explores what it means to be a dad. At the end there are some handy questions on each chapter which can be tackled individually or in a group. I recommend you read it, reflect on God's fatherly care for you and let it help you to be as good a dad as you can be to the children your heavenly dad has been pleased to bless you with. Reviewed by Allan Robertson (Manager), Christian Men Together for Scotland From The Good Bookstall - June 2010 This book breaks many moulds regarding the message of Gods personality and his imprint left in us. This book shares the reflections of one ordinary man about what it means to be a dad to his three children - and how that reflects Lincoln's feelings about life, the universe and God. If we are made in the image of God, our heavenly Father, then there is much we can learn about what it means to be a dad through looking at what God is like. One Dad - Encountering God does not set out to provide all the answers but to get you thinking about the stuff that really matters. This is unquestionably practical, warmly personal and truly engaging. If you are a dad to younger children, you shouldn't hesitate to read it. If you know a dad, read it and pass it on to him. You will find yourself debating, asking questions, thinking afresh and going deeper in your walk with your Father in heaven. Included is also useful application on how this might be used with individuals and groups. Inspiring and challenging, by this second time author. Reviewed by Johnny Douglas
