Synopsis

Day by Day with God are Bible reading notes specifically written for women. All the contributors are women and write from a woman's perspective. The entries for each day contain a suggested Bible reading, with the key verse written out in full, a helpful comment that engages heart and mind and a short reflection or prayer. The regular team of contributors are all excellent writers. Whatever your current situation in life, you will be inspired and encouraged by these notes. Published every four months (in January, May and September) and edited by Catherine Butcher. About the contributors in this issue: Tracy Williamson, an author and speaker, is part of Marilyn Baker Ministries, bringing a message of hope and assurance of God's love. Lyndall Bywater is the national prayer co-ordinator for the Salvation Army. She is a Spring Harvest speaker. Diana Archer, married to an Anglican vicar in Southampton, is the author of Who'd Plant a Church, a warts-and-all account of church planting. Wendy Bray is a freelance writer, speaker and communications coach. She has two adult (already?) children and lives in Devon, where she is a member of Emmanuel Church, Plymouth. Bridget Plass travels and performs with her husband Adrian, supports World Vision and speaks at BRF quiet days. Alie Stibbe works in Business Support at a college of further education. She is also a freelance writer and translator. Rosemary Green is active in her local church, in which she leads a pastoral care team. She has 14 grandchildren. Anne Le Tissier is a freelance writer and speaker, seeking to teach, encourage and equip Christian discipleship and also to engage with cynical unbelievers. Sandra Wheatley trained as a nurse. Though no longer able to work, due to MS, she lives a full life through an extensive prayer and email ministry. Liz Pacey has worked as a nurse and midwife and with visually impaired people. Currently she writes, studies theology and ministry, and is a reader in the Church of England. Fiona Barnard is a staff member of Friends International and TEFL teacher. She works with international students and encourages local Christians to reach out in friendship and witness. Jean Watson is a writer, a spiritual director and a director of a local counselling service. Her work has included teaching, editing and writing. Catherine Butcher edits The Mothers' Union magazines Families First and Families Worldwide and has edited Day by Day with God since 2003.

In the past she has edited magazines such as Renewal and Woman Alive and has published The Christian Counsellor. She is currently working towards an MA in Christian Spirituality at the University of London, as well as writing books and magazine features.
