Media Reviews
Michael Green's Bible Reading - a beginner's guide is a wonderful help to anyone trying to make daily scripture devotions part of their everyday walk with God. He poses the questions that a new Christian would ask about bible reading such as 'How can I begin?' and 'How can I avoid getting stale?', then provides researched, yet practical, guidance to encourage the reader to jump in and get started. Dr. Green doesn't provide a cookie-cutter formula for reading the Bible, but rather simply and clearly shares things you should know, things you should consider, and things you should do to get to know God Himself through the pages of His love letter to all humankind - the Bible! I particularly recommend this book to Alpha Course guests or graduates who may still have questions about the Bible's history, make up, or relevance to people today, but who usually are quite eager to get on with deepening their new life in Christ. Dr. Green offers several ways to approach daily bible reading, but leaves it to the readers to decide which approach works best for them. For anyone who is ready to make a new or renewed commitment to reading the Bible, Bible Reading - a beginner's guide is a great aide to getting off to a good start.
