Media Reviews
From: The Church Times 6 May 2005 A resource that has helped me with assembly ideas, though it is aimed at group sessions, kid's clubs, or holiday-workshop events is Lucy Moore's The Lord's Prayer Unplugged. Its material for ten active sessions is aimed at Key Stage 2 children, but it is adaptable up and downwards: sketches, crafts, stories, and ideas for praying and singing. From Directions September 2004 A teaching programme for 7 - 11 year olds, sharing the riches of the Lord's Prayer in some ten sessions. There is a clear and simple purpose, to teach this central treasure of the Christian faith, phrase by phrase. There is plenty of material in each session, probably more than one could fit into the time available. It will need energy and commitment from the teachers, but for those whose problem is a lack of confidence in the teaching, this is a most valuable aid. From Star News - diocese of London August 2004 Whew! Although this book claims to have only 10 sessions of the Lord's Prayer, there's so much material that it will keep you going for much longer! Breaking the prayer into 10 phrases, each session has ice-breakers, ideas for quiet reflection, drama, stories, biblical links, prayer ideas and songs.
