by Geoff Thompson (Author)
I have just come off the phone. I was talking with a close friend who is unhappy because life has offered him a chance to experience more freedom in his life... but he has chosen to see this opportunity as a blight on his day, his week - actually he has chosen to see this exciting prospect as a blight on his entire existence.
My friend is similar to many people I encounter - he wants more from life, but he is not prepared to add extra labour to get it. He seeks health without sacrifice and he begs growth without discomfort. And when his desired booty is not delivered, free of charge and tied with a ribbon, he starts making targets out of anyone and anything. What he does not do is point the finger of blame at himself.
My friend is in a dark place. A place of unknowing and ignorance. And the more I look around me the more I see that there is a plethora of folk inhabiting similar realities, dark places that they want to find their way out of but cannot because they are too busy looking out and not busy enough looking in.
The Beginner's Guide to Darkness is designed to help people who want to help themselves. It is for those that are tired of working out, and are brave enough to start working in.
