by Max Arthur (Author), Max Arthur (Author), Busby Sir Matt (Foreword)
On the 6th of February 1958, an aircraft took off from a snowy Munich airport carrying Busby's Babes, one of the most successful teams Manchester United have ever had. Moments later the plane crashed, killing some of the most talented names in British football. This book is dedicated to those players - Roger Byrne, Tommy Taylor, Duncan Edwards and others who lost their lives - and to their manager, Sir Matt Busby. On the 40th anniversary of the crash the author has sought out the players who survived and has spoken to the friends and relatives of those who died. From these interviews he has created a portrait of all the Busby Babes who were on board that flight. The book includes contributions from Bobby Robson, Nat Lofthouse and Bobby Charlton and a foreword written by Sir Matt Busby on the 25th anniversary of the crash.
