michael kustow is a writer and producer. His books include Peter Brook, a Biography (Bloomsbury 2005), theatre@risk (Methuen 2003) Tank, An Autobiographical Fiction (Cape 1975) ,The Half: Actors Preparing to Go on Stage - text for Simon Annand's photographs (Faber, 2008). He has been Director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and of the National Theatre, and Arts Commissioning Editor for the first eight years of Channel Four television. He lives in North London.
