Author Bio
Alan Powers writes and lectures on architecture and applied art. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich School of Architecture and Landscape, is actively involved in the Twentieth Century Society, and is Chairman of Trustees of the Pollock's Toy Museum in London. A frequent contributor to Country Life, Crafts, The Spectator and other magazines, he is the author of Living with Books, the first title in this highly successful new series, and contributed to the best-selling The Elements of Style, also published by Mitchell Beazley. His other books include The English House and Nature in Design.
