Bluffer's Guide To Golf: Instant wit and wisdom

by Adam Ruck (Author), Adam Ruck (Author)

Synopsis

Instantly acquire all the knowledge you need to pass as an expert in the arcane and labyrinthine world of golf. Never again confuse a mashie with a spoon, a brassie with a birdie, or stroke play with a scratch. Bask in the admiration of your fellow golfers as you pronounce confidently on the precise interpretation of the Rules of Golf, and always give the firm impression that you can never be caught short on the subject of sprinkler-head relief. Written by experts and offering readers the opportunity to pass off appropriated knowledge as their own, the Bluffer's Guides provide hard fact masquerading as frivolous observation in one witty, easy read.

Author Bio
Many years ago, Adam Ruck took up golf at an advanced age, got his handicap down in no time, and now spends his time trying to get it up. His great grandfather is often credited with bringing golf to Wales, and Adam has inherited his enthusiasm. Talent took a different route down the generations. Shaky though many aspects of his game are, he chooses his opponents carefully, holes the occasional putt, wins the occasional match, and would prefer not to be known as a loser or a duffer or a snatcher of defeat from the jaws of victory, though he has been called all of these things. He has teenage children, and takes golf holidays on the pretext of writing for The Daily Telegraph.
